After serving 5 years as an Infantryman in the United States Army, Michael ended his service in 1996 from his last duty station, Fort Lewis, WA. Always up for a challenge, Michael entered the field of real estate as a real estate agent in the Tacoma/Olympia metro area. While quite successful as an agent, he very quickly realized that the skills he learned as an Infantry Fire Team Leader were better applied to problem solving, and lending provided that challenge.
Since 1997, Michael has dedicated himself to serving the military and their families, ensuring that their home loan experience is always the best possible. His unwavering passion for serving veterans and their families is what has led to him serving in almost every job in the mortgage industry. His knowledge of the home loan process comes from the many positions he has held over his career, ranging from wholesale lending, consumer direct lending, underwriting, and managing a mortgage branch.
Since moving to the Tri Cities in NE Tennessee, Michael has continued to serve his clients and partners with the same passion and vigor that he had in Washington. As a result, Michael's veteran clients and real estate partners affectionately refer to him as "Big Sarge" due to his retention of his NCO values, but also being caring and devoted to his clients and partners and their success.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Washington and obtained his Master of Science in Organization Leadership from Regis University. He further obtained his Six Sigma Green Belt and Lean Six Sigma certifications from Villanova University. In his free time, you can find Michael and his wife exploring Tennessee, trout fishing or spending time with his dogs.
